The brief was to create artwork encompassing Pact Coffee’s ethical mission and at-source farmer stories to display at customer venues. I decided to approach the brief as a rebrand, developing a visual style that could be applied across their point of sales and products, with the aim of capturing the core values of Pact’s brand: connection, care and equality.

Deliverables

  • An overall main piece of artwork (or series) that transforms their POS into an expression of art.

  • Examples of how the artwork could apply across a range of POS applications

My solution to the brief was to develop a modular illustration system that tells the story of Pact coffee, and champions the people involved. It includes patterns representative of the cultures and areas where Pact coffee is farmed, such as Kenya, Rwanda, Columbia and Honduras.

The modular style meant that the elements could be applied differently across the range of applications, giving a refreshing and consistent identity to their products.

Examples of how the brand can be applied throughout their coffee shops through immersive super-graphics and point of sales.
